Most chapters provide a practicum so you can experience the journey for yourself and self-reflect. By the end, this book comes full circle and you realize exactly where you are.
Journey To the Heart by Melody Beattie: A little something for the heart. A daily dose of diving deep, with a short, inspirational read for each day of the calendar year. The book offers a great way to set your intention for the day or to close out the evening. An excellent opportunity to allow yourself to pause and feel.
Anatomy of the Spirit by Caroline Myss: A little more for the soul. It starts with the autobiography of the author Carline Myss, who then teaches how to listen to your body and understand what it is telling you. Your body is constantly attempting to achieve homeostasis, but when something has thrown you off, it shows up in your body. An intuit herself, Myss explains how to detect these ailments in your body and heal them. She offers you her gift of knowledge.
The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel van der Kolk: This book explains what we mean when we say your body holds and manifests emotions, and how trauma can shape the body and mind. In addition to all the scientific proof, the book also examines treatments and discusses ways in which the body heals. It's an excellent read to understand the mind and body connection.
